Verification of Payee, everywhere you pay.
Verification of Payee, everywhere you pay.
One API across every major payee-checking scheme - EU Verification of Payee, Swift Pre-validation and the major bank-consortium payee-verification networks - so one integration covers the EU mandate and the rest of the world.
The mandate, and the date after it
Verification of Payee has been mandatory for euro credit transfers since 9 October 2025. Payment service providers in the euro area must offer the payee check on every euro credit transfer, instant or not, at no extra charge to the payer.
Payment service providers in member states outside the euro area follow on 9 July 2027 for payments in euro.

One integration, three schemes
EU Verification of Payee
The scheme behind the euro credit transfer mandate: payee name and IBAN checked before the payment leaves.
Swift Pre-validation
Beneficiary checks on correspondent banking payments before a SWIFT message is sent, so failures surface before the money moves.
Global bank-network validation
Account validation across a global bank network, covering corridors the European schemes do not reach.
The capability's published reach: intelligence from more than 9 billion payments across 4 billion accounts.
What the capability covers
- Multi-scheme routing
- One request is routed to the scheme that can answer it, with automatic failover when a scheme is unavailable or returns nothing.
- Configurable name matching
- Match strictness is set per flow, so a trading name or a transposed initial does not read as a mismatch and stall a payment run.
- Anomaly detection
- Patterns that precede misdirected payments are flagged before release, not reconstructed afterwards in an investigation.
- Single and bulk
- One-off checks at the point of payment, or a whole payment file checked before it is submitted.
- Cloud or on-prem
- Deployed as a hosted API or inside your own environment where data residency rules require it.
Published tiers
The tier list below is published, which on this rail is a feature: you can read the price rather than book a call to hear it. Tiers are indicative and subject to scope.

This is indicative. A formal offer holds the rate for 14 days, carries a named validity date and comes as a letter you can sign.
What it is worth
- -35% Investigations
- -25% Support contacts
- -20% Fraud and error losses
Published benchmarks from the capability provider's own ROI calculator, gathered 2026-08-18. Not Crosswire research.
